Every page on Thank You Letters starts with a moment someone is actually in: thanking relatives after a birthday, writing to a teacher at the end of term, replying to condolences after a funeral. We ask what that person needs to send in the next five minutes, then write for that.
How a page is made
- We group the questions people search for into one clear occasion per page, so each page has a single job.
- First drafts of messages are prepared with the help of AI writing tools, working from our brief, our tone rules and our list of what each occasion needs.
- An editor reads every message aloud, cuts anything stiff, repetitive or untrue to life, and rewrites lines until they sound like a person talking.
- Timing and etiquette advice, such as how soon to send a wedding note, is checked against several established etiquette guides. Where customs differ, we say so.
- Marathi and Hindi messages are reviewed for natural wording, and we welcome corrections from native speakers.
- The cover picture on each page is a drawn greeting card made for the site. It is not a photo and shows no people.
Original lines only
Our “quotes” are short original sayings written for this site. We do not copy lines from other websites, books or famous people, and we never attribute a line to someone who did not say it.
Keeping pages fresh
We add messages when readers ask for an occasion we missed, and we retire lines that feel dated. The date at the top of each page shows when it last changed. If something reads wrong, please tell us.
